M.Sc. Agronomy

M.Sc. Agronomy course is a postgraduate program of the duration of two years. The Master of Science course in agriculture is usually covered during four semesters, with each year having two semesters. The course trains students towards improving the agricultural practices and making agriculture sustainable so that it benefits both the consumer and the environment. With the increasing need of talent in the prominent agriculture sector in India, the course in agronomy is also taking leaps in terms of its demand among graduates.

Eligibility:

Candidates who have completed B.Sc. degree in the stream of Agriculture, or an equivalent degree from a recognized board are eligible for this course.
Candidates should obtain 55% of marks in their bachelor degree examination for M.Sc. Agronomy course eligibility (50% of marks for SC/ST/PH candidates).

M.Sc. Horticulture

M.Sc. Agronomy course is a postgraduate programme of the duration of two years. Horticulture is the branch of Agricultural Science that deals with the cultivation of plants, vegetables, flowers, fruits, herbs, shrubs, bushes, ornamental trees and landscaping for gardens, maintaining nurseries, green houses, gardens, orchards and plantations and also floriculture or cultivation of flowers.
The horticulture now has direct and indirect applications in food technology industries as production, harvesting and storing of vegetables have all become highly mechanized. Plants are grown under strictly controlled conditions using sophisticated sensors, computers and biological control of pests and diseases.
Advances in horticultural technology, increasing product demands, and a growing export industry are making this an extremely lucrative career.

Eligibility:

Candidates who have completed B.Sc. Agriculture/ B.Sc. Horticulture, or an equivalent degree from a recognized board are eligible for this course.
