National Pharmacy Week 2019
Glocal School of Pharmacy, Glocal University, Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh celebrated the ?58th National Pharmacy Week? in a big way. The event was supported by the ?Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI)?. Various activities/competitions viz. Pharma Model, Pharma Poster, Pharma Rangoli and Debate Competition were conducted on the occasion. A seminar on the theme ?Pharmacist?s role in patients? safety and efficacy of medicine? was also organized on 22nd November, 2019. More than 300 pharmacy students participated enthusiastically in different events.
Various banners, rangoli, posters and models portraying various aspects of pharmacy and health care issues were prepared and displayed in the campus to spread awareness among other students and staff of the University.
The session commenced with a lecture on the above theme delivered by Dr. Rizwan Ahmed, Vice President (UP State), APTI. In his speech, he explained that pharmacists have been doing amazing works for the society in general and patients in particular. By citing suitable and relevant examples, he apprised how the counseling provided by the pharmacists can improve the effectiveness of medication. He advised the pharmacists to inculcate human ethics and values; and also to develop proper communication skills for counseling the patients effectively. Dean, Pharmacy, Dr. Satish kumar Sharma emphasized on the vital and crucial role of pharmacists in the health care world. He apprised that the pharmacist community has a big responsibility in ensuring speedy recovery of patients with an effective counseling.
During this occasion, Prof. O.K Harsh, Vice Chancellor and other staff members were also present. During his speech Prof. Harsh showered his blessings on the students and appreciated the efforts put by the faculty and students in highlighting the value of pharmacists.
