Mass Reading Session of the Preamble organized in Glocal University on the occasion of Constitution Day /Samvidhan Divas
Constitution Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Glocal School of Law, Glocal University, Saharanpur, on 26th November to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. Glocal Law School Organized Mass Reading Session of the Preamble in the Moot Court Hall to affirm and remember the noble ideals enshrined in the Constitution and promote Constitutional values among students and staff of the University.
Inaugurating the program, Faculty Member Navneet Krishna paid tributes to the framers of the Constitution, stating the contribution of the Constitution Assembly in the making of the Constitution. He emphasized the importance of Constitution Day, the significance of its celebration and commemorated the people who contributed to the development of the Indian Constitution. He highlighted the fundamental differences of the Indian Constitution with that of other countries through examples indicating the prerequisites of the Constitution, such as societal, familial, and individual needs. Students were informed that the Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Law & Justice, Government of India had launched an online course on the Indian Constitution, which students can attend by accessing https://legalaffairs.nalsar.ac.in. After that, students and staff of the University joined Ms Reshma Tahir in Mass Reading of the Preamble and remembering the struggles of the Freedom fighters for the Adoption of the Preamble. After that, Faculty Member Mohd. Wazid Khan laid down the importance of Constitutional Law for Legal Fraternity.
Students of the University Mohd Sakib, Azeema, Mohd Umar, Affan, Mohd Fazil proved their mettle and highlighted the contribution of Dr. Ambedkar, Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, B.N. Rau, Jawaharlal Nehru, Alladi Krishnaswamy Iyer, in their speeches. In the second phase of the program, an Online Quiz competition on Constitution was organized in which around 100 students participated. In the Quiz Competition, Ms. Asma Parveen, Ms. Akanksha Bhardwaj, Mr. Mohd Zaid, Mr. Sajid Khan, and Ms. Aliza Shahid were declared as Winners. Dean, Glocal Law School, and DSW Dr. Vir Narayan, and Dr. Manzoor Khan, Convener of the Quiz Competition, congratulated the participants for their enthusiasm. Faculty Members Ambuj, Chand Usmani, Vaishali, Dr. Rehan, Dr. Waseem, and teachers and students from other departments were also present. Dr. Neelam Sharma and Dr. Nafees Ahmad from the Faculty of Education also addressed the gathering. Sweets were distributed to all students at the end of the program.
