Glocal School of Pharmacy is a part of globally recognized Glocal University, Saharanpur, India. D.Pharm. (Diploma in pharmacy)

The course of study in Diploma of Pharmacy comprises of Part-I, Part-II and Part-III. There shall be an examination in the first year on the subjects of Part-I and an examination in the second year comprising the Part-II subjects and three months hospital training comprising Part-III.
A pharmacy professional with a diploma in pharmacy may contribute to society by serving as a community pharmacist. Further, they also have job opportunities as a pharmacist in various health centers of government and public sectors. They have a license to open a pharmacy store. Moreover, they have the opportunity to serve humanity by various ways. For example as a community pharmacist they counsel the patient regarding drug usage, interactions, adverse effects etc.  There are also job opportunities abroad as an assistant pharmacist.

Q. What Is D. Pharm Course?

A. D. Pharm. course is a Professional Pharmacy diploma programme of 2 yrs duration after 10+2 (science academic stream) which includes 2 yrs of academic study + 3 ymonths of hospital training.

Q. Is Diploma in Pharmacy approved by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI)?

A. Yes, this course is approved by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) under section 12.

Q. What are the eligibility criteria to join D. Pharm. courses?

A. Candidate must be passed in 10+2 examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects: Mathematics or Biology.

Q. What is the maximum intake capacity of Diploma in Pharmacy course?

A. Maximum intake capacity is 60.

Q. Is Glocal University Affiliated To Any University For Purpose Of Recognition Of Degrees?

A. Glocal University is a University established under sec 3 of UGC Act 1956. Being a University, the question of affiliation to another university does not arise. Since the university is recognized by UGC and Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India, the courses offered by Glocal University are recognized.

Q. What is the course curriculum and credit of Diploma in Pharmacy Course?

A. Syllabus for Diploma in Pharmacy is fixed by Pharmacy Council of India. Pharmacy Council for Diploma course does not follow credit system.

Q. After completion ofD. Pharm, am I eligible for B. Pharm?

A. Yes. After completion of D. Pharm, student may get admission in B. Pharm, IInd Year directly by lateral entry. It will save 1 one of B. Pharm.

Q. What is the course content of D. Pharm. programs?

Q. Placement

A. Students may get got in Pharmaceutical Companies in Production, Quality Assurance and Quality Control Unit. After completion of D. Pharm. candidate would be eligible for opening their own Pharmacy Retail Shop by using his PCI registration certificate.

Q. This year I have passed previous year of post graduation. Now I want to pursue B.Ed program. Is it possible?

A. Yes. You can take break from your post graduation and can resume your PG after passing B.Ed; subject to the permission from the University from where you are pursuing your post graduation.

Q. Whether a candidate who has undertaken MBBS/BJMC/B.Pharm./Nurshing/B.Sc. (Hotel Management)/B.Lib. or any other subject at degree level in graduation which does not come under the purview of the conventional subjects taught in schools is eligible for the B.Ed. programme?

A. No. A candidate who has undertaken a professional degree other than B.Tech. (with specialization in Science and Mathematics) is not eligible for the B.Ed. programme.

Q. Whether a candidate who has undertaken a degree in vocational subjects is eligible for the B.Ed. programme?

A. No. A candidate who has undertaken a degree in vocational subjects is not eligible for the B.Ed. programme.

Q. What is the duration of the B.Ed program?

A. As per NCTE Regulations 2014 from academic session 2015-16 and onwards duration of B.Ed program is of two academic years. In our University this program will run in four Semesters.

Q. What is admission process in B.Ed?

A. Admissions shall be made on merit on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or on the basis of the entrance examination conducted by the Glocal University.

Q. Where I have to apply for B.Ed admission?

A. To take admission in B.Ed program apply online at the University’s website

Q. What is the age limit for B.Ed. program?

A. No upper age limit as per current norms of NCTE. But preference will be given to the candidates who are continuing their education without long gap.

Q. What is the medium of instruction?

A. Hindi nd English languages are the medium of instruction in the B.Ed program.

Q. Is there any scholarship available for B.Ed student?

A. Yes, 30% scholarship of the tuition fee is available for- Girls, Students of disadvantaged section, Differently-abled, Students who score 60% + in graduation

Q. The result of the examination is given semester-wise or after completion of B.Ed program?

A. Result is announced semester wise.

Q. If the person has done his educational qualifications from Distance learning / Open learning / Private, is he/she eligible to do B.Ed through Glocal University?

A. Yes, provided the course(s) is recognized and equivalent to examinations conducted by the recognized Boards and Universities.

Q. What are the job/career prospects upon completion of the B.Ed.?

A. After completing B.Ed. program one can start his/her career as TGT/PGT Teacher in Government or Private Schools to teach the students of upper primary or middle level, secondary and senior secondary level as per his/her qualifications. Apart from teaching in a school, student can opt for any of these career prospects:

Q. Is there any scope for higher education after B.Ed.?

A. After doing this program one can do higher studies enrolling in Master of Education (M.Ed.) or in Master of Arts in Education (MA Education) program and then clear UGC-NET examination in Education subject and also could pursue research and Ph.D. in Education. After completing Masters in Education and meeting norms one could become Teacher Educator in the M.Ed., B.Ed. and D.Ed. (BTC/JBT) program of any Government or Private Institution. This program also opens the door for research activities After doing M.Ed.; options are also open in various NGOs and publishing houses as content developer.
