Choice Based Credit System (CBCS)
In order to bring equity, efficiency and excellence in the Higher Education System, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has introduced “Choice Based Credit System (CBCS)” with the hope that all Universities will adopt these measures to enhance academic standards.
Glocal University though partially adopted the CBCS policy, however on the instructions of Academic Council; a committee has been constituted to prepare a comprehensive plan of action in this regard so that policy of UGC can be implemented in the letter and spirit from the academic year 2016-17.
The core strength of the programmes at Glocal University lies in its innovative curriculum, which integrates the strengths of theory with the rigour of practical and experiential learning.
The programme curriculum is frequently revised by bringing in recent case studies and examples from policy making domains. The quality of the curriculum is regularly evaluated by external academicians at different levels.
Our teachers’ use of communicative strategies encourages pedagogic practices that are interactive in nature and is more likely to impact on student learning outcomes.
Some specific strategies, that promoted this interactive pedagogy includes :
- Creating a safe environment in which students are supported in their learning
- Drawing on students’ backgrounds and experiences
- Feedback, sustained attention and inclusion. Teaching with technology engages students with different kinds of stimuli-involve in activity based learning.
Glocal University is constantly striving to foster strong links with the industry so as to bring invaluable national and international experience into the classrooms. Visits to relevant sectors of the industry are organized regularly to provide onsite learning experience.
Industry internship is part of the course structure and the activity is supported by the placement cell of the academy. University focuses on hands-on training so that graduates hit the work force with high quality standards.
